With school back in session, many Hawaii residents are looking for updates from the Department of Education and the newly appointed Board of Education on the state of education in Hawaii as well as the vision for education as we move forward.
“As a proud public school graduate, I share the community’s interest in improving Hawaii’s public schools and celebrating their successes,” Representative Aaron Ling Johanson stated. “My goals for this community meeting are to give Chairman Horner and our other guests an opportunity to share their current assessment of education in Hawaii, vision for the future of Hawaii’s public schools and provide residents an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns.”
“It is also a great opportunity for the residents of Aiea and Pearl City areas to hear directly from their Complex Area Superintendents, who play a pivotal role in assuring our students from elementary through high school receive the right tools to facilitate success,” said Rep. Johanson
Sponsoring legislators of the Aiea/ Pearl City Community Town Halls include Senator David Ige, Senator Donna Mercado Kim, Representative Blake Oshiro, Representative K. Mark Takai, Representative Roy Takumi, and Representative Johanson.
