RECALL DEBATE PART TWO

REP. KYMBERLY PINE IMPLEMENTS RARE PROCEDURE ON HOUSE FLOOR TO REVIVE FALLEN FLAG BILL PART TWO

THIS GOES BEYOND CLOTHESLINES HERE.    EWA BY GENTRY CHARGES THE HOMEOWNER AN “UP FRONT” FEE TO FLY THE FLAG OF $100.00 THAT GOES WITH THE DESIGN REQUEST APPLICATION.   CAN’T THE LEGISLATURE SEE THAT A $2.95 BRACKET AT A HARDWARE STORE TO ERECT THE FLAG COSTS THE HOMEOWNER $100.00 UP FRONT JUST TO GET APPROVAL TO AFFIX THAT $2.95 BRACKET TO THE HOUSE TO HOLD THE FLAG?

DOESN’T THIS CHARGE SEEM EXORBITANT AND RISE TO THE LEGISLATURE’S CALLING PER HB2311 TO REIGN IN ON THE SAME PREMISE-  THAT MEMBERS ARE DETERRED FROM FLYING THE FLAG BECAUSE OF THE UNREASONABLE FEE(S) IMPOSED AND THUS THE LEGISLATURE- using HB2311 as the vehicle for remedy-  SET A STANDARD FOR THE COST TO ERECT THE FLAG AS THEY DID FOR PHOTOCOPYING? i say waive the fee on the flag- should be exempt from fees imposed- still turn in a design request for approval to meet proper confines- but the charge to fly the flag could be exempted by the Legislature here using this bill.
